Acoustic Control System for BOP Operation
The subsea BOP acoustic control system is an emergency backup system which is completely independent of the electro-hydraulic multiplex main control system. When the rig deviates from the warning ring or the BOP main control system fails, the operator can control BOP functions from the tugboat or lifeboat.
