First in China! Rongsheng Company' Becomes Saudi Aramco’s Sole BOP Supplier in China

On September 3, Rongsheng Company received the supplier registration approval certificate from Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), successfully entering the core supply chain of the world’s largest oil company. Rongsheng Company' has become the first and only company in China approved to supply BOP products to Saudi Aramco. This approval covers Rongsheng Company'’s BOP products ranging from 7 MPa (1,000 psi) to 105 MPa (15,000 psi). It marks that the company has reached the highest international standards in technology, quality, manufacturing capability, and management systems, breaking the long-standing dominance of a few international giants in this field and raising the first banner of a Chinese national BOP manufacturing brand within Saudi Aramco.
Saudi Aramco is the world’s largest oil producer. Its supplier qualification system is known for its high standards, strict procedures, and meticulous review process, covering every aspect and every stage of quality management systems and HSE system operation, including design and development, production and manufacturing, inspection, and testing. Guided by the vision of becoming a world-renowned company in the petroleum machinery manufacturing industry, Rongsheng Company' began preparations for Saudi Aramco supplier qualification as early as 2008. Over the years, the company has remained deeply committed to the R&D and manufacturing of BOP products and has firmly followed a path of innovation-driven growth, brand development, and international expansion. It has successfully developed the 175 MPa BOP stack representing the highest level in the industry, providing safety support for China’s 10,000-meter deep drilling operations. Its prototype 18 3/4’-20000psi ultra-high-temperature, high-pressure BOP stack and control system filled a domestic gap. The company has cumulatively sold more than 20,000 BOP units, with products entering more than 50 major oil-producing countries worldwide. It has become the only manufacturer in China capable of producing deepwater BOPs and control systems, and a world-leading manufacturer in onshore BOP production and sales volume. The BOP product series developed by the company, with pressure ratings ranging from 3.5 MPa (500 psi) to 175 MPa (25,000 psi), covers all specifications and models currently in use in the market. These products offer high reliability, rapid response capability, and strong corrosion resistance and high-pressure resistance, enabling them to effectively address blowout risks under various complex well conditions and ensure operational and personnel safety. High-quality products and timely, attentive service have won wide recognition from many oil companies and customers both in China and abroad.

After years of unremitting effort, as well as the recommendation and support of Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation, Saudi Aramco officially sent Rongsheng Company' an invitation in May 2024 for BOP product supplier qualification. Faced with Saudi Aramco’s extensive and demanding standards, as well as its special requirements for BOPs operating in high-temperature and highly corrosive environments, Rongsheng Company' organized close coordination among its technical, production, sales, safety, and other departments and units. Through detailed documentation, efficient on-site audits, and thorough test verification, the company clearly and comprehensively demonstrated its technical strength, quality control capability, and management standards. After more than a year of preliminary review and nearly half a month of rigorous on-site assessment, Rongsheng Company' won high recognition from the Saudi Aramco audit team with its outstanding product performance, rigorous management procedures, and professional teamwork, and successfully obtained supplier qualification for its full range of BOP products.
The successful inclusion in Saudi Aramco’s supplier network, placing Rongsheng Company' alongside globally renowned BOP manufacturers, is of milestone significance in the company’s development history.
